Wellington's objective is to provide targeted service at reasonable and predictable cost. To that extent, once the scope of work has been established and agreed on, Wellington prepares detailed estimates of the required effort and submits an engagement proposal featuring a fixed, not-to-exceed fee.

Where the exact scope of work cannot be determined in advance, a potential client may consider purchasing the Initial Assessment survey service. For a moderate flat fee plus travel expenses, payable in advance, Wellington dispatches a consultant who spends up to three days at the client site observing operations, interviewing personnel and collecting information, and additional days in the office processing the collected facts. The results of this work are summarized and presented in the Initial Assessment Report within two weeks from the conclusion of the survey visit. Aside from a broad overview of detected problems and opportunities, this report proposes a tentative scope of project work together with a consulting fee estimate for the client's consideration.

In those rare situations where scope of work cannot be defined in advance, Wellington provides services on a time and material or monthly retainer basis. Due to its low overhead, Wellington can offer very affordable hourly and daily rates. As is customary in the professional services industries, travel and incidental out-of-pocket expenses are billed at cost.
