Initial Assessment

This phase is usually purchased when the client needs assistance to define the project requirements and scope of work. During this brief phase, one of Wellington consultants observes the client's operations, gathers preliminary information about the present and projected unit volumes, assesses the availability, quality, and completeness of aggregate and item-level data and, in close cooperation with the client, prepares the first draft of the scope-of-work description. Within two weeks from the initial assessment visit, which usually takes from 2 to 3 on-site days, Wellington submits a report that summarizes its understanding of client's requirements and outlines the path for one or more phases of the project. In most instances, this report includes an estimate of the not-to-exceed consulting fee for the proposed amount of work.
